Business Culture in Rwanda

>> Business Dress Code in Rwanda

Rwandans value physical appearance and people will be treated depending on how they are dressed. During working days Rwandans tend to wear smart-casual clothes with the men often wearing trousers and shirts. Women will often wear skirts, dresses and few of them trousers. It
is important to mention that government officials are not allowed to wear jeans at work unless they are on a field trip.

During the weekend most Rwandan men are in suits and ties and women wear fabrics (kitenge), suits and umushanana (the traditional ceremonial dress of women). It is advisable to dress formally when you are going for a meeting with people you do not know.
