The Federal Government created several regulatory Agencies in charge of specific economic sectors, the most important of which are the following:
ANATEL- National Telecommunications Agency
ANEEL- National Electric Power Agency
ANP-National Oil Agency
ANNT- National Land Transportation Agency
ANTAQ- National Water Transportation Agency
ANVISA- National Health Agency
ANAC- National Air transport Agency The primary function of these Agencies is to monitor and regulate activities in the public interest, which gradually moved from public to private entities. Such Agencies are responsible for regulating the structure of the markets under their scope of authority.
